About Owner, Lesley Toth
Lesley opened Runnin Broke Ranch in 2014 after 15 years of giving lessons and training horses as a part-time endeavor. She was at a point in her life where she was finally able to follow a lifelong dream and make horses her full-time career and wake up every morning and not go to work, but go to the barn. She has found this to be a very rewarding choice, 4 years later. Lesley began riding horses before she was 1 year old, when her mother, Vera, used to tie her to herself with baling twine and take her on trail rides with her at a few months old. Lesley used to fall asleep she was so comfortable on the back of a horse. Throughout her early childhood she rode English, but soon transitioned to Western when she rode the 4-H Pony around Barrels for the first time. After Barrel Racing once, she was hooked for life! The rest has been history. She has qualified for NBHA World Finals, AQHA World Finals, and ridden at the AQHA Congress multiple times both as a Youth, Amateur, and Open.
Lesley has accumulated experience in Hunt Seat, Western Pleasure, Trail, Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Halter classes. She enjoys showing multiple horses at the local and regional level throughout the show season. Though barrel racing is her passion, she believes firmly in keeping up in all disciplines and teaches lessons and trains across the board.
When Lesley began her business, one of her focuses was to give the adult beginner rider, or adult "re-beginner," a place to ride and feel comfortable, not over matched or out of place. Many adults have been riding their whole life and to adults just beginning, this can seem intimidating. Lesley wanted to provide a "haven" for those who were just coming into the sport later in life, and for those like minded individuals to congregate. Of course, she enjoys teaching all ages, but this was a focus she wanted to direct attention to.
